Day 5: Encouragement

Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don't lose hope. Wait for the Lord. (‭Psalm‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ NIRV)

I needed to hear this verse today! During my 31 Days of writing I encourage comments! I would love to hear from you!!

When you are going through a trying season in your life that causes you to wait upon God what are your go to scriptures?

  1. 2013 was a hard year for us. We gave birth to our fourth blessing - a true miracle - and in the hospital a misguided pediatrician accused me of parental neglect of our older children (having never even met me or my kids - this was over the phone). I was horrified and heartbroken and couldn't see how any good could come of it. Two weeks later, my husband was given a verbal pink slip, and four weeks after that, with very limited health coverage, our oldest was ambulanced to Pediactric ICU with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease. 8 weeks later, my husband had a routine medical procedure backfire and underwent emergency surgery. We finished the year with another hospital stay for our diabetic spark plug. But God, in His mercy and wisdom, used each and every event for His glory. When the pediatrician accused me of neglecting my children's health, it motivated us to take our sick child to the hospital sooner rather than later (symptoms of diabetes can mimic mild illness and thus be very difficult to diagnose at times). My husband never lost his job, my parents covered our older child's hospital bills, and my husband and I grew in our faith by leaps and bounds as a result of everything that transpired. It was a rough time, and we had to wait to see how the Lord would work through each trial. It was truly worth the wait, though! I will be praying for you and that precious little one. I once read this quote, in case it helps: "Until the Lord opens the next door, I will praise Him in the hallway!"
